Welcome to Brian’s League

Home Photo01Brian’s League has been developed for children with any type of disability; whether it is a mental, physical or sensory disability. Our goal is to have a place for kids to come and be kids! Every child has a chance to bat, run bases and play in the outfield. We have dedicated volunteers to assist each child with batting and running. (Volunteers will also act as catcher, pitcher and play the outfield along with the children). Additionally, there are no registration fees or costs, whatsoever, to the children and their families. All participants will be assisted by parents, coaches and other volunteers. The league promises to be fun, exciting and non-competitive and is open to the public.

The league is named after an intelligent, polite, fun and huge sports enthusiast named Brian. He has a condition called Sturge-Weber Syndrome which includes congenital glaucoma, epilepsy and facial anomalies. Brian has a hard time accepting that Ocala and Marion County has minimal sports programs for disabled youth and decided to do something about it.

Baseball provides a place for these special children to forget about daily challenges and have a place to play, meet others who face similar challenges and learn good sportsmanship all while having fun. We have been met with a growing enthusiasm by the players and both schools and parents alike. We would like to thank all of our community sponsors and our very special volunteers for providing the opportunity for Brian’s League to be so successful.

Spring 2011 Schedule

home pic 2Spring games are scheduled from February 19, 2011 through April 22, 2011 at the Rotary Sports Complex. Because evening games were such a success last season, this season we are changing the game schedule to rotate between Saturday mornings and Friday evenings. An awards ceremony will follow the last game on April 22nd. Please check the website frequently as we will post important information about game dates and times for this season.

Donate to Brian's League

Brian's League is a non-profit organization. Without the help of all of our volunteers, donors and sponsors Brian’s League would not be possible. Brian and his family along with other disabled children thank you in advance for your donation!
